The Oxford Princeton Programme Announces Courses in International
Oil Trading, The Olefins Business and LNG Shipping to Debut in Dubai, UAE
(June 2008)
PRINCETON, NJ - April 2008:
The Oxford Princeton Programme, the world's leading provider of education and
training solutions to the energy, commodity and derivatives markets, is pleased
to bring three of its most sought after courses to Dubai, UAE.
"Dubai is uniquely situated as a crossroads for the global energy sector and we
are responding to client demand for our courses," says Jobert E. Abueva, Global
Marketing Director, The Oxford Princeton Programme. "We are committed to
providing the region with the most comprehensive energy training available
anywhere."
All courses are led by expert educators exclusive to The Oxford Princeton
Programme who bring a wealth of knowledge into each workshop. Courses consist of
a mix of lectures and case studies, and in some cases, simulation exercises.
A certificate is awarded upon successful completion of each course.
Principles of International Oil Trading (TR0)
16-18 June 2008 - Dubai, UAE
This course covers the basic principles of international oil trading and the
allied fields of supply, transportation and refining. Through the medium of a
case study, delegates will address day-to-day problems and will understand the
relevant commercial driving forces in this area. Much of the work will be
carried out in syndicate groups where teams will simulate real in-company
practice, working with other delegates drawn from a wide background of
disciplines in the industry. Delegates are introduced to the key elements
affecting the international market of oil trading. Crude valuation, ocean tanker
transport and freight are explored together with a basic overview of terminals
and pipelines. The structure of a refinery will be explained in the context of
the need to produce marketable products. Aspects of product quality will be
covered together with the key refining processes needed to achieve them.
The Olefins Business - Markets and Economics (CH6)
18-20 June 2008 - Dubai, UAE
The course covers the technology, economics and markets for the olefins
business. It will explore the economics of different feedstocks and the balance
of supply and demand. There will be a full discussion about the importance of
integration downstream to derivatives.
LNG Shipping - A Voyage of Discovery (TDLNG)
18-20 June 2008 - Dubai, UAE
LNG transportation accounts for 10% to 30% of total LNG supply chain costs from
upstream gas production through to terminalling and regasification on the import
side. It is central, both figuratively and physically, to the LNG supply chain
and the safe, efficient execution of LNG supply contracts. The LNG shipping
sector has also been evolving rapidly in recent years in response to accelerated
growth in the international gas markets and - as in other parts of the LNG
supply chain - technological innovation is seen as the means of optimising costs
and increasing cargo outturn. New players have entered the LNG shipping business
and the LNG industry is increasingly looking for more flexible shipping
arrangements. Larger ships, innovative ship designs, new containment and
propulsion systems have been developed while safety and environmental factors
remain foremost considerations in the construction and operation of these
vessels.
Seats are limited to ensure proper in-depth coverage. For organisations with
widespread interest, courses can also be scheduled as on-site presentations.
