The Oxford Princeton Programme Announces Updated Instructor-Led Seminar Schedule for the Calgary, AB Energy Sector

PRINCETON, NJ - April, 2007: The Oxford Princeton Programme, the world's leading provider of training solutions to the energy, commodities and derivatives industries, has 12 training days slated in Calgary for the remainder of 2007 as it looks to address professionals' most immediate commercial mid-to-downstream training requirements.

  • Fundamentals of Energy Futures (FOEF), 21 August 2007
    This course allows for an in-depth training day covering the world of futures and all its nuances with the busy professional in mind. Delegates become instant traders via a fast-paced trading simulation and delve into futures contracts and markets for various energy commodities including oil, gas and electricity. Delegates are awarded 8 CPE Credits

  • Options I - Fundamentals of Energy Options (FOEO), 22 August 2007
    This course allows for an in-depth training day covering the world of futures and all its nuances with the busy professional in mind. Delegates become instant traders via a fast-paced trading simulation and delve into futures contracts and markets for various energy commodities including oil, gas and electricity. Delegates are awarded 8 CPE Credits.

  • Energy Risk Management (ERM), 23-24 August 2007
    Limitation of price risk exposure is a difficult concept. Imagine if one is able to maximize hedging efficiencies and limit price risk. In this two-day workshop, delegates create a portfolio of industry techniques and apply them to four unique case studies developed by leading risk managers. This programme covers various energy commodities, including oil and gas and also provides an in-depth understanding of hedging. Delegates are awarded 16 CPE credits

  • Overview of the North American Natural Gas Industry (NANG), 25 September 2007
    This one-day course is designed to introduce delegates to the functionality of the natural gas industry and those involved in its operation. Discussion includes physical natural gas beginning with exploration and concluding with the delivery to the burner-tip. The course explains how the regulation shaped the current market place and will also introduce financial products used for hedging physical positions. Delegates will become familiar with industry nomenclature and operation of the physical natural gas market place. Delegates are awarded 8 CPE Credits.

  • Overview of the North American Electric Power Industry (ET), 26 September 2007
    Deregulation of the electricity marketplace continues to be a controversial topic. During this period of historic and rapid change, there is much to learn. Let this programme be your first step. This one-day event is a combination of presentation and trading simulations. Delegates are awarded 8 CPE Credits.

  • Oil Trading Orientation (OTO), 22-24 October 2007
    Before any major trading decisions can be made, a solid understanding of the fundamentals is crucial. This three-day course enables delegates to comprehend the underlying knowledge necessary for crude oil and petroleum product building. Delegates are awarded 24 CPE credits.

  • Fundamentals of Energy Basis Trading (BT), 4 December 2007
    Traders are often faced with the complex concept of basis. The 'B' word can make or break a successful hedging or trading program. This one-day course reviews 'real world' scenarios to reinforce the application of basis trading theories and tools. Participants will be put to the test during an exciting trading simulation. Delegates are awarded 8 CPE credits for this course.

  • Fundamentals of Technical Analysis (TA), 5-6 December 2007
    Understanding and using technical analysis is important to hedgers as well as speculators. This workshop will take the mystery out of common technical indicators. Participants will learn what they are and how the experts use them. A trading simulation involves decisions based on technical indicators. Delegates are awarded 16 CPE credits.
