The Oxford Princeton Programme Announces Updated Instructor-Led Seminar Schedule for the Asia Pacific Energy Sector

    This course allows for an in-depth training day covering the world of futures and all its nuances with the busy professional in mind. Delegates become instant traders via a fast-paced trading simulation and delve into futures contracts and markets for various energy commodities including oil, gas and electricity. Delegates are awarded 8 CPE Credits

  • Options I - Fundamentals of Energy Options (FOEO), 18 July 2007
    Although the introductory futures and options courses are stand-alone offerings, after "Fundamentals of Energy Futures" delegates may seek further enrichment and this course fits the bill, perfect for any professional with a desire to sharpen skills on futures terminology and trading. Topics include premium valuation and advanced trading strategies on exchange traded options, specifically those related to energy commodities.

  • Energy Risk Management (ERM), 19-20 July 2007
    Limitation of price risk exposure is a difficult concept. Imagine if one is able to maximize hedging efficiencies and limit price risk. In this two-day workshop, delegates create a portfolio of industry techniques and apply them to four unique case studies developed by leading risk managers. This programme covers various energy commodities, including oil and gas and also provides an in-depth understanding of hedging.

  • Derivatives, Pricing, Hedging and Risk Management (TPD), 18-19 July 2007
    This two-day course provides delegates with a comprehensive overview of energy derivatives instruments and markets as well as an introduction to current best practices in pricing, risk management and hedging. The course is highly interactive and delegate participation and discussion are encouraged. Numerous case studies are presented throughout the course, with particular emphasis on the applications of the concepts presented in the lectures. Also, a variety of tools will be applied in several group exercises to hedge and control market exposures.

  • The Synergies of Refining, Trading and Supply (TRR), 21-24 August 2007
    This advanced course is designed to provide delegates a thorough understanding of the latest business techniques and refining technologies available to the oil supply, trading and refining industries. The four day workshop will highlight the activities of these sectors and explain how to maximise overall profitability. Through a variety of case studies, delegates will learn the principles of refinery planning and economics along with basic principles and techniques involved in trading and supply. This advanced course is recommended for delegates with a working knowledge of the subjects covered in that course.

  • Global LNG - The Complete Supply Chain (LNG1), 24-27 September 2007
    This newly updated, premier "master-class" course is delivered by an established team of top professionals in the international LNG scene. Delegates attending "Global LNG - the Complete Supply Chain" gain comprehensive awareness and understanding of the complete LNG chain from commercial, technical and market perspectives, and of proposed future global developments. Discussion topics will include, but are not limited to the following: the LNG business in a global gas context from both a technical and commercial perspective; upstream gas process choices; strategic decisions surrounding choosing an LNG route; terminology associated with the LNG business; appreciation of global and national gas supply and demand drivers; existing and new LNG markets worldwide; essentials of liquefaction, shipping, regasification and storage.

  • Tanker Ownership, Chartering and Operations (TD2), 3-5 October 2007
    This basic course covers the crude oil, petroleum products, chemicals and gas transportation sectors. The three-day seminar examines the important economic, financial, contractual, environmental and legislative issues when evaluating contract options, chartering and investment strategies, logistics and operating tactics. Presented in association with Richardson Lawrie Associates - a maritime economics and business consulting firm with extensive global practice in the oil industry, shipping and transportation economics. The emphasis of the course is on sound commercial practice, drawing on the working knowledge and experience of the various industry speakers. Case studies and practical sessions provide delegates with hands-on experience of decision making in this area.

  • The Chemicals Shipping Market - Chartering and Operations (TD3), 8-10 October 2007
    The Asian region is the fastest growing area for chemicals production and trade. Shipping is a vital part of the supply chain in the chemicals sector and as such is a key element in the profitability, marketing and safe transportation of the commodities involved. Also presented in association with Richardson Lawrie Associates, This three-day course combines lectures from senior professionals and carefully structured exercises, case studies and workshops. The course is designed to enhance the business knowledge of commercial, operational and financial personnel from ship-owning and operating companies; chemical producers and traders, banks and financial institutions.

  • Front to Back Office: Trading Controls and Best Practices (FTBO), 15 October 2007
    International and domestic commodity professionals can advance their knowledge and skill set with this one-day workshop that covers proven controls used in commodity trading activities. Delegates immediately apply these trading techniques through hands-on case studies. Recent trading "failures" are also analyzed.

  • Overview of Physical Crude Oil Trading and Operations (CT), 16-17 October 2007
    This workshop offers delegates an in-depth introduction on how the physical crude oil trading market works. Besides invaluable exposure to terminology, each delegate will experience all the steps in typical domestic and foreign crude oil transactions.     This two-day workshop introduces the fundamentals of petroleum refining and was designed to introduce non-technical oil industry members to the fascinating field of petroleum refining. It will delve into Refinery operations and how they affect global oil and product prices.

  • Principles of International Oil Trading (TR0), 24-27 October 2007
    This course spans from the basic principles of international oil trading to a discussion on the allied fields of supply, transportation and refining. Using case studies to analyze commercial driving forces, delegates will address day-to-day concerns. Crude valuation, ocean tanker transport and freight are explored together with a basic overview of terminals and pipelines. Additionally, during the week, delegates are given the opportunity to trade in the current market via a simulation of live trading.

  • Total Risk Management in the International Oil and Derivatives Market (TRM), 29 October - 1 November 2007
    This four day workshop focuses primarily on the array of risk involved with trading. In addition to a comprehensive review of the market, delegates will study techniques and trading instruments. Case studies correspond with each technique to explain the management of risk. A continuous study throughout the course will enable delegates to manage a portfolio of their own.

  • Gasoline and Diesel Fuel Technology (GDT1), 20-22 August 2007
    For the first time in China, this three day workshop will encompass gasoline and diesel fuel technology. Discussions include refining, blending, specifications, performance, environmental aspects and the use of additives. Current and future challenges faced by the motor manufacturers, oil and additive industries will also be addressed.
