The Oxford Princeton Programme Announces Record Number of Public Courses for 2007 Dedicated to the Houston, TX Energy Sector

PRINCETON, NJ - January, 2007: The Oxford Princeton Programme, Inc., the world's leading provider of training solutions to the energy, commodities and derivatives industries, follows up a successful series of course offerings in 2006 with even more in 2007 to meet the growing demand for a cutting-edge Houston-based curriculum that gives delegates a competitive edge in the marketplace.

2007 public courses will amount to 50 training days to be held in convenient downtown venues and to cater to professionals across a variety of functions and levels of experience.

The following are public courses confirmed to come to Houston during the first quarter of 2007:

  • Overview of Physical Crude Oil Trading and Operations, 22-23 January 2007
    This workshop offers delegates an in-depth introduction on how the physical crude oil trading market works. Besides invaluable exposure to terminology, each delegate will experience all the steps in typical domestic and foreign crude oil transactions. The linkage between new well production, marketing, transportation and storage, and refining to physical trading (both speculatively and as a hedge vehicle) will be explored. Delegates are awarded 16 CPE credits for this course.

  • Fundamentals of Petroleum Refining - A Non-Technical Introduction, 24-25 January 2007
    This two-day workshop introduces the fundamentals of petroleum refining and was designed to introduce non-technical oil industry members to the fascinating field of petroleum refining. It will delve into Refinery operations and how they affect global oil and product prices. Delegates are awarded 16 CPE credits for this course.

  • Overview of the Physical Trading of Petroleum Products, 26 January 2007
    This one-day workshop familiarizes delegates with the key elements of trading physical petroleum products. Topics explored include major product blending pools and specifications, market fundamentals, technical analysis, key trading strategies and the mechanics of trading and operations. Delegates will learn product-trading terminology and participate in industry case studies as well as product trading simulation. Delegates are awarded 8 CPE credits for this course.

  • Fundamentals of Energy Basis Trading, 14 February 2007
    Traders are often faced with the complex concept of basis. The 'B' word can make or break a successful hedging or trading program. This one-day course reviews 'real world' scenarios to reinforce the application of basis trading theories and tools. Participants will be put to the test during an exciting trading simulation. Delegates are awarded 8 CPE credits for this course.

  • Fundamentals of Technical Analysis, 15-16 February 2007
    Understanding and using technical analysis is important to hedgers as well as speculators. This workshop will take the mystery out of common technical indicators. Participants will learn what they are and how the experts use them. A trading simulation involves decisions based on technical indicators. Delegates are awarded 16 CPE credits for this course

  • Fundamentals of Energy Futures, 20 March 2007
    This course allows for an in-depth training day covering the world of futures and all its nuances with the busy professional in mind. Participants become instant traders via a fast-paced trading simulation and delve into futures contracts and markets for various energy commodities including oil, gas and electricity. Delegates are awarded 8 CPE Credits.

  • Options I - Fundamentals of Energy Options, 21 March 2007
    Although the introductory futures and options courses are stand-alone offerings, after "Fundamentals of Energy Futures" participants may seek further enrichment and this course fits the bill, perfect for any professional with a desire to sharpen skills on futures terminology and trading. Topics include premium valuation and advanced trading strategies on exchange traded options, specifically those related to energy commodities. Delegates are awarded 8 CPE Credits.

  • Energy Risk Management, 22-23 March 2007
    Limitation of price risk exposure is a difficult concept. Imagine if one is able to maximize hedging efficiencies and limit price risk. In this two-day workshop, delegates create a portfolio of industry techniques and apply them to four unique case studies developed by leading risk managers. This programme covers various energy commodities, including oil and gas and also provides an in-depth understanding of hedging. Delegates are awarded 16 CPE Credits.
