Experts and analysts alike contend energy demand will continue to sustain, and according to Energy Asia, will be "driven by government infrastructure spending and favorable demographics." China and India lead the charge but so do Southeast
Asia and Australasia with their just as impressive middle-class core and growing economies.

The prospects associated with these energy sectors can be clouded by today's volatility in commodity prices including that of crude oil hovering around $75 barrel. We must not lose sight of the future opportunities and to act today in order to capitalize ahead of competition, current and future.

To this end we do urge you to consider our education events coming to the region which are open to the public or can be brought in-house for your own team should you choose to do so. Many of these courses are introduced in this newsletter.

Anything we can answer, do not hesitate to ask.

Best regards,

Jobert E. Abueva
Director, Global Marketing

Our Spotlight Series is an opportunity to hear firsthand from our global energy education experts. This month we spoke with Mr. Robin Burley, Course Director:
What can delegates look forward to in your course?
Hard work, but hopefully an enjoyable experience. Additionally there is the bonus of being able to network with variety of industry players.

How do you like to present your subject matter?
It is important for delegates to learn within an appropriate environment, so it is essential to make the whole process absorbing and indeed entertaining at times. Whilst each presentation must tell a story, we also use a variety of techniques including exercises, case studies, plays, videos and competitive syndicate games to reinforce the points being addressed. Additionally, in each Oxford course, besides having a resident faculty of two or three presenters, we bring in several outside speakers. Our visiting speakers are current practitioners in their respective fields and offer the benefit of their experience and cutting-edge work practices.

What are your career/professional highlights?
A career in the oil industry has given me the opportunity to live and work in many locations around the globe and has provided me with the opportunity to learn from other cultures and their approaches to solving problems. I also think being involved in the Oxford Princeton courses has allowed me to put some of my experiences extracted over a lifetime back into the industry and continue to interface with an extensive cross section of market participants.

What are some of the greatest challenges facing the energy sector?
The ongoing search for reliable replacement energy, both fossil and non-fossil, in a balanced manner in an environmentally conscious world. Linked to this is the need to educate all interested parties about the role the industry plays and how it is tackling these challenges.

How do you like to spend your free time?
Doing various activities with my family. I also do quite a bit of cooking, wine tasting and singing - but not necessarily all at the same time.
